Over the years I’ve had a bunch of different titles and tag lines for my blog. As I’ve developed new projects and changed focus, the words associated to my online presence have followed suit.
Since October 2017 I have been studying an MA in Mission, Ministry and Theology through the Church Mission Society, validated by Durham University. I have become more and more interested in mission, how we define it, how we do it, how we live it… In line with a growing sense that I might be able to call myself a missiologist (at least a fledgling one) I have changed the tag line of the anewloom blog to
‘creativity in prayer, spirituality and mission’.
I think this speaks of where I have got to in my thinking on creativity as much as it does my new found interest in missional thinking. Rather than creativity being a separate entity, it’s become an ethos for me, a way of working.
I’m in the middle of writing my dissertation but in the next few months I hope to share some of my learning from the MA and explore how creativity relates to prayer, spirituality and mission. I hope to revisit some old posts and ask some missional questions as well as sharing new sources of inspiration.
